Ballinger Bearcub and Bearcat Bands


Welcome to the Ballinger Bearcat Band program.  The BBB program exists to provide a quality music education for 6th - 12th grade participants.  We are very proud of our band program and enjoy leading our students in their pursuit of musical excellence.  We expect and challenge those who choose this elective to do so with pride and a desire for excellence in all they do as we continue the tradition that is the BBB.  The success of the BBB is dependent on the team effort of the band directors, students and parents.


The BBB is a fundamentals based program.  Our band members are expected to understand and demonstrate the following fundamentals.  These fundamentals lead to excellence in performing in class, at contests, and concerts.

2. Note & Rest Pyramids

3. Chromatic Chart

4. Key Signature and Accidentals

5. Review Test

6. Long Tone

7. Dynamic Study

8. Rhythm Analyzing

9. 7x8 Scales with Chromatic and Arpeggio.  (Concert Db, Ab, Eb, Bb, F, C, G)

10. School Song Melody (Phrasing), Fight Song
